Geely auto group is a leading automobile manufacturer based in hangzhou, china and was founded in 1997 as a subsidiary of zhejiang geely holding group. The group manages several leading brands including geely auto, lynk & co, proton cars, and geometry.

The group employs more than 50,000 people, operates 12 plants, five global r&d centers in hangzhou, ningbo, gothenburg, coventry and frankfurt. The group also operates two global design studios in shanghai and gothenburg with over 1000 members of staff in total.

Geely automobile holdings, a subsidiary company owning the geely auto, geometry, and 50% of lynk & co brands has been listed on the hong kong stock exchange since 2005.

In 2021, the brands under geely auto group management sold over 1.44 million units, with geely auto retaining its position as the best-selling chinese brand for five consecutive years, lynk & co accelerating its expansion in europe, and proton seeing its third consecutive year of growth with geely as a strategic partner.

World-class Research and Development

The group is committed to world-class research and development in the auto industry. It has established the geely automotive research institute in hangzhou, the renowned china euro vehicle technology (cevt) in gothenburg, and the world-leading geely research institute in hangzhou bay, ningbo to focus on development of vehicles, engines, transmission and vehicle bound electronics. Other facilities include design centres in barcelona, gothenburg, coventry california and shanghai.
